US Ski Orienteering Championships

Thursday, February 11, and Friday, February 12, 2010:

Middle Distance event at Morse Farm, VT (Non-US champs) - near Montpelier

Race Director: Aims Coney

Start times: Any time from 12-2pm, courses close at 4:30pm.

 

Friday, February 12, 2010:

Model event at Craftsbury, VT

Race Director: Adrian Owens

There will be an opportunity on Friday to ski the Morse Farm event, in case you could not make it on Thursday.  Please see the more details page for more information about that opportunity.  Start times on Friday for the Morse Farm event are from 9-11, with courses closing at 1:30pm.

 

Saturday, February 13, 2010:

Middle Distance championship event, Marshfield VT

Race Director: Ernst Linder

The barn opens at 9, registration opens at 10am.  Start times are from 11-1pm, with a pre-assigned start time.  Courses close at 3:30.

Saturday afternoon (2:30pm): Technique clinic with Alex Jospe (NENSA certified coach), no cost to registered participants.  Focus will be on skate and other techniques used for ski orienteering.

Awards and social event will run from 3:30-5pm at the Barn.

 

Sunday, February 14, 2010:

Long Distance championship event, Craftsbury VT

Race Director: Krum Sergiev

Registration will open at 9.  Starts from 10-12pm, pre-assigned start times.  Course closes at 3pm.

 

Monday, February 15, 2010 (President’s Day):

US Ski-o Team Fundraiser Sprint, Chester VT

Race Director: Ken Walker

Starts from 10-1pm, course closes at 3pm.

 

Tuesday, February 16, 2010:

Middle Distance event at Grafton Ponds, VT (non-US champs)

Race Director: Larry Berman

Starts from 10-12pm, course closes at 2:30pm.

 

 

*NOTE*

The U.S. Ski-O Team has six map holders to lend out, on a first-come, first-served basis.  Register early to guarantee yours!

 

 

The title of U.S. Champion in any class as determined at an officially designated U.S. Championship Orienteering "A" meet shall be limited to those who are USOF members in good standing and meet one or more of the following criteria:
a)      Meet one of the following citizenship requirements:
·         Are U.S. citizens and citizens of no other country
·         Are in a permanent residence status commonly referred to as "green card carriers".
·         Hold dual (U.S.) citizenship and reside primarily in the United States.
·         Hold dual (U.S.) citizenship, reside primarily outside the United States, and have not yet and agree not to compete for a championship title in another country during the current calendar year.
b)      Are full-time students in the U.S. holding a current student visa.
